Listed below are some Frequently Asked Questions that might help you and your student prepare for a week with United Student Camp. There will be a mandatory parent meeting July 13 at 8 pm in the Sawgrass Worship Center where questions can be answered in more depth.
Question: Where is worship taking place? Where are we gathering for the event?
Answer: Church by the Glades 400 Lakeview Dr. Coral Springs, FL 33071 http://www.cbglades.com
Question: What is included in the event cost?
Answer: The cost per person pays for your stay at the hotel as well as the four evening and morning worship sessions, late night concerts and events, themed family group Bible studies, recreation, all meals, a t-shirt per participant and one copy of the united student journal: which includes Bible study, quiet times and other special features.
Question: What is the general schedule of the event?
Answer: Corporate gatherings happen twice a day. We meet for a morning worship session at 10:00 am and an evening worship session at 7:00 pm. The morning starts with breakfast, family group time, morning session, lunch, recreation, free time, dinner, evening session, late night, family group time, and lights out.
Question: Does United Student Camp have a dress code?
Answer: “Yes,” we do. In worship we ask that girls not wear anything too short or low cut, as well as no tank tops or spaghetti strap shirts. The guys should not wear clothes with holes in them, tank tops or muscle shirts or any clothes with questionable words or pictures. No bathing suits in worship. And while we are on the beach, girls need to wear one-piece bathing suits and guys should wear board-style bathing suits.
Question: What is the adult to student ratio?
Answer: One adult for every five students is requested. The Embassy Suites and Best Western requires 1 adult per unit.
Question: What are the bedding options at hotels?
Answer: United Student Camp is given a limited number of rooms. We want as many students and adults to be able to join us as possible, so we use EVERY bed space we possibly can to help keep your cost low. The majority of the rooms we use are standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds in them and a double sleeper sofa. Roll-a-ways are not guaranteed as an option.
Question: Can my student bring their cell phone?
Answer: There is a zero cell phone policy at camp. All students will have a leader in their room with a cell phone. All cell phones brought will be collected and given back at the end of camp.
Question: What all do you need from me before I arrive at the event?
Answer: By the time the event begins, you will need to have submitted a notarized medical release form (which can be found here) and have your money turned in and your student registered either online (by clicking here) or by turning in money and a registration form to the church office.
